Distance Education Course on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Best Practices
Overview

CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development offers best practices course using Blended Learning Approach for Indian Industry, stakeholders and students as well.

The course is unique in India & are offered through Distance Education mode and certified by CII-CESD. The blended learning approach provides students with the flexibility to complete each Environmental Health & Safety Best Practices modules at their own pace and on their own time. The traditional benefits of classroom instruction are realized with the initial contact training & refresher workshop.

As an industry led organization, CII - ITC Centre of Excellent for Sustainable Development (CESD) aims to manage workplace risks by promoting a healthy and safe working environment in eco-friendly industrial operation. The Environmental Health & Safety Best Practices are designed to support the EHS systems at the worker's workplace, so that every employee knows how to protect their own health and safety and that of fellow workers.

Objective

The objective of the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Best Practices distance education course is to provide students/workers/stakeholders with the knowledge to improve their environmental performance, work safely and to protect their health in a typical workplace in Indian industry. The protection of the environment health & safety is presented through the following module topics:
  • Waste Minimization
  • Hazardous Waste Management
  • Chemicals Management
  • Transportation of Hazardous Substances
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Fall Protection
  • Machine Safety
  • Accident Investigation
Methodology

  • Self-Learning Modules
    The student will complete nine self-learning modules, case studies and a major project over a four-month period. These modules provide understanding of the subject matter and an understanding of the best practices used in industry. These practices can be used within the existing management systems at a workplace. Since they are backed by regulatory requirements, it is important that the knowledge and skills to apply the practices is part of every employee's job.

  • Evaluation
    After the self-learning modules are completed, evaluation of a candidate will be done through online examination. Environmental Health & Safety Best Practices Certification requires successful completion of a project and a minimum of 70% in an examination.

Participation fee is Rs. 15,000 per participant*.

Note:
  • Fee can be reduced to Rs. 12,000 per participant, if there are 3 or more nominations from a single organization
  • Registration fee is non-refundable. Change in nominations is acceptable
  • Organisers reserve the right to change the date/location of the training course due to unforeseen circumstances. However, all registered participants will be informed of the changes
  • This is a non- residential programme; therefore participants are requested to make their own arrangements for the accommodation
